Editing Practice

As a Challenge we were given a series of 16 shots that we had to assemble into a chronological order using windows live movie maker. The shots entailed a man walking through a factory (armed with a hand gun) being very cautious as he is always looking around him and trying to remain hidden. At the End he is caught by what was chasing him.
*The computers we did this on have sound disabled so if it is unclean it is because I couldn't hear it.

I feel I accomplished this task at a decent level, the only problem I had was a Personal grievance with the camera flipping from side to side causing the character to "Cross the Line" although its obviously always him it caused a broken sequence in my opinion as the switches break the Emerson of the audience. other than this I enjoyed the task I am compitant in Movie maker and adobe primer but for this task (To do it to how its set I wasn't  sure weather I was allowed to crop and edit or Flip the clips so i left it to its original clips) I felt it was very jumpy (this possibly the wrong order from the original) but to me this order makes sense (Establishing Shot, Character entering Building, Moving through Building, Attacked).
I added Effects to The being (introducing fades to the first two shots) and a Visual effect at the End to create the illusion of a Demon/Alien attacking the character.

T-Shirt Design

Promotional team T-shirts will be used as a marketing tool, as we are Launching of trailer at Shipley Colleges Digital Showcase the T-shirts will also be used to distinguish between the three teams and link us to our Game.
Using Street shirts (http://www.streetshirts.co.uk/) Design tool Created a design (we are using Streetshirts. because they are local, cheap and have a total that is shown and updated as you use their design tool)

Here is My design, I decided due to the Blue in our Logo that Black looked too Dark.  although this now causes a problem with the game logo (this i plan to mend in Photoshop if my design is selected).

Game Name Graphic

For our game we needed to create a Graphical title screen to show the game name/title in an ascetically pleasing way and so that it will stand out from the competition. Media Products that use name graphics and particular fonts are associated with the product in a Negative or Positive way, the Spider-man films used a particular font that was also adopted buy Sony's PS3 although the two brands (Marvel and Sony) are separate and the products unrelated but the same font causes consumers to make a link between them. The problem this can cause is that if the other product is very bad the link may cause negative association with your product.

My Design
For my design I wanted to have three separate elements, The Series Name (Saltaire Chronicles), The Game Name (The Wine of Titus) and the Vial/"Wine". Mounted on a background representing the sandstone of Saltaire. However having the three elements caused the overall image to seem broken or fragmented.
My intentions for Sereis Name were to have it in a traditional font, I doubled the layers to add a black outline to it or extra shadow, but re sized the font wrongly so it is not clean against a proportion of the text ruining the affect of the double layer (I noticed this imperfection whitest uploading it for my blog). I added a Drop Shadow as an effect on the layer, but after playing around with the Size, Distance and Spread this was to give a similar effect as the doubled layer but I increased the distance of it too much so this now, rather than being slightly raised above the background seems to be floating in the foreground. However the other text I did which is the Game name, I used a more Simple font style to hint towards the modern day setting, I changed the color of Titus to a Blood Red and used the smudge tool to give the effect of dripping blood. The Idea behind this was to hint at the horror Element of the game but because this style is so different to the over fonts and is already quite dark (in a horror style) in its styling the difference exaggerated the Horror aspect. I feel that the Vial in its styling is suitable and effective as it doesn't reveal too much that would spoil the game (other than pointing out that the "Wine of Titus" isn't actually wine). The plain background doesn't remove focus from the fore ground (if it was Brick work the lines might disrupt the focus point).

The Chosen Logo
This is our chosen Logo, But we would like to add other elements into the design to make it more stylish.
