For our initial assessment we designed four ideas for desktop designs.
from my four designs I have deemed that two are not suitable for the purpose or target audience as I went with a horror/cartoon face of a goblin the problem with this design as well as its unsuitability is that it took too much space leaving none for the icons. The other design i don't think was suitable, was a rose breaking through a gun. the reason this is unsuitable is because it is to do with the equality and diversity its more a anti-war sort of image, however you could link it as peace for all is equality. This link however, could be misinterpreted by people as being something entirely different.
The two images that I do like both have strong media links and are suitable for our theme.
the first is a peace circle of fantasy characters around an image of the globe. The fantasy characters represent (non-directly) cultures of the world. I like this image because I can create them originally and not plagiarise any specific image (other than generics). this image allows me to suit our age range as the cartoon style I want to use is aimed at an age of 10years but its of a style that I believe adults and teens will appreciate.
The finall image I have is a warrior (greek hoplite, at monent although may change through development proses), holding a flag/banner with media suite written across the banner and the shipley college logo as a design on his sheild. With the class charter key words around the rim of his sheild.
